How is this a thing?!

Pasembur is described as a Malaysian "salad." There are vegetables in it (shredded cucumber and bean sprouts), but the bulk of it is chopped up fritters. Yes. Fried foods. You've got your choice of prawn cakes, three kinds of fish cakes, squid cakes, hot dog (?), potato, onion cake, egg, some sort of flat peanut cake, and god knows what else.

The fritters are chopped up, covered in a mound of said vegetables (thereby making it "salad"), and then doused in some sort of terrifying red sauce.

Turns out the sauce is vaguely sweet and barely spicy. Appearances can be deceiving. (So can names.)
