Plus marrow

I decided to break up my all-gumbo diet with a late night snack at Toups Meatery. I ordered the bone marrow with duck hearts and a side of duck liver crostini. 

Wow. Toups was only on my radar because of its proximity to my place, but it is definitely worth the trip up to mid city. 

Oh. And when you're done? (Ok fine, this is silly, but still.) You cap off your meal with a shot of Irish poured down the groove of the bone. Silly. And delicious.

Oh. And. 

The lovely gentlemen at the bar beside me offered me a taste of their desert: salted caramel, peanut butter, bacon Doberge cake (a local 7-layer specialty).  

Very silly. And very delicious.
