All gumbo, all the time

Late in the day, I finally made it down to the Treme Gumbo Festival, where I felt compelled to keep going with the gumbo theme begun on Friday night.

I opted for the longest line, for miss Linda's (famous for "beef yakamein," which I have not yet tried an so cannot report on).

I orders the seafood gumbo with a sample size of the (vegan) gumbo z'herbes. 

I admit I was put off by the fact that it was advertised a vegan, but it was -amazing- and I wished I had ordered a full-sized portion.

As for the seafood gumbo, I need to keep reminding myself that I am not a fan. Shrimp doesn't belong in a slow-cooked dish.
