Do I ever love Thailand.
Things started off less than ideal, as I couldn't quite figure out how to catch a cab/tuk-tuk, but a driver pulled over and asked where I needed to go, and we figured things out. Unfortunately, the hotel I chose only had one "delux" room available, so I decided to try my luck elsewhere. Also unfortunately, all the other elsewheres were full up too (except for the incredibly swanky places).
But as luck would have it, the place I eventually wound up at was actually on my short list, and it's lovely, and 500 baht, with two pools and a leafy courtyard that smells of gardenia. Or maybe jasmine.
