One last Laos adventure

Because my ticket had an inked-in correction that I was a little nervous about, and because two different people told me to be at the airport two hours in advance, and because let's face it, that's just how I roll, I arrived at the airport at 10:45 for my 1:00 flight.

What that meant was that by noon I was starving. There's nothing at all to eat in the airport proper, but there is a lackluster joint in a separate building within the perimeter (that also, oddly, has a monopoly on the available wifi).

I wasn't going to eat my last Laotian meal there.

So I headed down the dusty road on foot, past the construction to the roadside stand where the construction-affiliated people and airport employees were eating.

They were serving up sausages and assorted meat bits. Which worked out just fine, because that was one thing I had been afraid of. So I got two kinds of sausages and sticky rice in a bag, brought them back to the outdoor (?)?waiting area at the airport, and made a greasy mess of my hands and face.
