Orphan elephants

At the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, they raise baby elephants that have been orphaned (due to poaching, drought, human/animal conflict, etc.) until they are old enough to be released into the wild.

They're released at Tsavo, which is a huge park with a large elephant population, where they are monitored until they are taken in by a herd.

At lunchtime, visitors can watch the babies feeding (they drink adapted baby formula). It is impossibly adorable. You can adopt an elephant if you want. And if you do, you can also make an appointment to go for bedtime.
