Here we are, day 2.5 in Italy, and I'm not really sure what I have to report. Nothing has been quite what I expected. Well, except this:
Like, I wasn't expecting palm trees. I wasn't expecting the architecture I have so far seen (on my way in from the airport and wandering around Testccio and Trastevere). (Think more Spain, less France.) (Although, to be fair, the South of France probably looks like this; it's just that I haven't seen it, so don't have it on hand as a point of reference.)
But nothing has been not what I expected, either.
Until today, it had been pouring rain, though I am not complaining, as, surprise, surprise, it turns out I will take Vancouver over Edmonton any day of the week (I saw that it was dropping back down to -17/0ish this week - sorry Toronto).
My sleep schedule has been weirdly disturbed but it is my goal to get back on track today. Wish me luck.
