Day end

It turns out I haven't minded spending three days in Luang Prabang, not a bit. I could sit by the Mekong all day long. Or ride the best rental bike of this trip (or any other, for that matter). Again, all day long.

After spending the previous day and a half building this little city in my mind, I spent most of today out in the countryside. Out past the landfill. (What is it about me that draws me to landfills?)

It turns out that my pics of the Mekong suck, so instead you get the equally nice if less evocative Nam Khan. Also a pic in which you can't actually see the most enormous spider I've ever encountered. They've got some monstrous bugs here, but the bugs, to their credit, are incredibly discreet.
