How the other half lives (kinda)

While I don't generally prefer "nice" stuff, it turns out that occasionally I do, provided that said "nice" is in South Carolina's Low Country. Or perhaps provided that I get to experience the "nice" on Easter Sunday.

Because if it's Easter Sunday, almost everything is closed and almost no one is around. The streets are hushed. The roar of commerce is silenced. There's nothing to do but wander around aimlessly past darkened storefronts, enjoy the weather, and try to find someplace to eat.

Which is how I like to spend my time anyhow.

Still. I'm enjoying this well-heeled city (albeit from a home base on the wrong side of the tracks). In case you were wondering just how well-heeled it is, note the public benches along the waterfront. Ivy covered porch swings anyone?
