Carollton, Georgia

Is cute as a button. Which is a good thing, because we were beginning to think that we had misread the omen that had chased us out of Alabama (more weather). But a short trip through the historic downtown charmed us, and at least three different routes through three different outskirts (more on that later) charmed me.

Even better, while trying (very unsuccessfully) to get a recommendation from the check-in girl on where to eat tonight (something local, not a chain, you know, bbq, seafood, soul food, etc.) an army vet piped up something that sounded like "Emma Jay's" (remember - we're in the rural south). Sadly, he couldn't remember exactly where it was.

But driving around town, didn't we spot "M&J home cooking country buffet." Yeah......

That's what I'm talking about.
